1859 Octagonal 25 Cents. BG-701. Rarity-6-. MS-63 (PCGS). OGH--Second Generation. Hart's "Coins of the Golden West." 1860 Indian and Bear series. 25¢. MS-66 (NGC). A lustrous coin with handsome orange-gold color and splendid surfaces. Certainly a later die state with the obverse head device showing considerable die lapping in the central area, bold reverse repunching on the R of DOLLAR, once high and again slightly high. Scarce and desirable, and right in the middle of census of those reported in the <em>Population Report</em> by PCGS for this variety.
