Modestly subdued khaki-blonde overlays both sides, perhaps contributing a bit to the highly desirable matte texture for which the early proof bison nickels are prized. As expected, both sides display exquisite, intricate details and as well struck as they can possibly be. Free from luster, which is an ideal characteristic for a matte proof.
