- Lot Description
- With a limited mintage of 121,540 pieces, which was thinned out by the mass melting of U.S. gold coins in 1937, the 1909-D ranks as one of the scarcer Indian eagle's in the numismatic market. Particularly difficult to locate in attractive Select Uncirculated and higher grades, this premium Choice AU represents a desirable alternative to a heavily abraded and/or lackluster BU example. Dressed in vivid rose-gold color, both sides also deliver bold to sharp strike detail and nearly complete mint luster. A thoroughly PQ coin worthy of strong bids.
