One of the FINEST examples of this last Franklin half dollar issue that survives! Clearly this coin is from an original Mint Set, as both sides are awash in gorgeous coloration. Gold, green, orange, and violet hues sparkle when the superb mint luster is captured in the light. Even using a very powerful loupe we are unable to find a single flaw worthy of mention and the eye appeal is exceptional! PCGS 1, NGC 1. In the 2016 ANA auction, this coin realized $15,275, in its one and only auction appearance. There is a single MS67+ FBL graded finer at NGC; that coin, and the PCGS MS67 FBL have never sold in auction. The current Collector's Universe value is listed at $22,500.
