Lot Description

1809/8 Capped Bust Left Half Eagle. Miller-108, HBCC-3116, BD-1, the only known dies. Rarity-3+. AU-50 (PCGS). Lustrous and pleasing for the appealing orange-gold color throughout. The obverse die shows traces of rust on Liberty's drapery from improper storage of the die in the humid summers of Philadelphia. Minimal signs of handling from circulation, and solid eye appeal for the color, surfaces and luster.
