Lot Description

1847-O Seated Liberty Quarter. Briggs 1-A. AU-50 (PCGS). Very scarce and seldom offered in any grade, the 1847-O Seated Quarter (368,000 pieces produced obviously suffered grievously in circulation during the years leading up to the Civil War. This lightly worn AU is softly struck here and there, as typically seen for the issue, yet with a generally bold "look" to both sides. Iridescent rose-apricot toning is largely confined to the reverse.
