Lot Description

1787 Connecticut Copper. Miller Obverse 11.1. Mailed Bust Left--Brockage--Fine-15 (PCGS). 102.8 grains. A fantastic full obverse brockage of a less common Connecticut type. We sold a brockage of a different 1787 Mailed Bust Left obverse, Miller 9, in our November 2020 sale of the E Pluribus Unum collection which along with a single Miller 13 obverse brockage were the only 1787 Mailed Bust Left brockages listed in Randy Clark's October 2019 survey of Connecticut copper full brockage errors. This is a pleasing piece with problem-free dark brown and tan surfaces. The brockage impression is rather weakly impressed but most of the major detail is outlined. Provenance: From the Norman G.
