1870 Pattern Quarter. Judd-888, Pollock-987. Rarity-5. Silver. Reeded Edge. Proof-66 (NGC). Obverse with the Standard Silver Liberty head with cap and three stars facing right, legends and Motto surround. Reverse with an open agricultural wreath within which is 25 / CENTS / 1870, with STANDARD above. Elegant teal and blue shades in the fields with rose-russet on the devices. One of the finer examples certified of this Pattern issue, and scarce with such attractive toning and surface quality. PCGS# 61132. NGC Census: 5; 2 finer (PR-67 finest) in all designations.
