Lot Description

1899 Liberty Head Half Eagle. MS-65 (NGC). CAC. Blended orange-gold patina and silken satin luster are seen on both sides of this lovely Gem half eagle. A sharp strike and smooth appearance are also of note. The final circulation strike Philadelphia Mint half eagle from the 19th century, the 1899 holds particular appeal for high grade gold type purposes. Provenance: From the A.J. Vanderbilt Collection.
