Lot Description
FROM THE SEATTLE COLLECTION Though not noted on the insert, this is the Col. Green-Eric Newman coin, the undisputed FINEST KNOWN of this incredibly rare Shield Nickel die trial, struck in aluminum with a plain edge. Fewer than a half dozen examples are known of this R-7+ pattern. Ultra deep, beaming mirrors beam all over on this SUPERB GEM. Thickly frosted devices stand out boldly against the highly reflective fields. They are icy smooth and have only a few mint made die polish lines in the fields. Free of any flecks, lines, or marks of any kind, the eye appeal of this SUPERB GEM is off the hook crazy! PCGS 1, NGC 1, CAC 2. The data represents this one coin. We believe there is just one or two other examples known. This coin most recently sold as an NGC PR67 CAM CAC for $12,925. Unpriced by Collectors Universe, this is the ULTIMATE J-688, an incredibly RARE Shield nickel pattern. Worthy of placement in any world class pattern collection. Good luck! Cert. Number 38670134 PCGS # 404168.00
