Losbeschreibung
Wow. What a wonderfully lustrous GEM. Swirling luster comes out in the light and pick up the dappled hues of aubergine, carmine, russet, olive, and gold. The devices are sharply struck throughout, showing no weakness at all. Only under intense scrutiny with a powerful loupe are we able to find the slightest scuff or randomly scattered mark. The eye appeal is strong and very pleasing. Among the top examples graded! PCGS 2, NGC 3. ONLY A SINGLE MS67 is graded higher at PCGS, that coin, the Pittman-Gardner specimen recently sold for $58,750 in our September 2016 Regency XVIII auction. The last MS65 coin to sell in auction, was the Dick Osburn NGC coin that sold for $8,913 in the 2011 ANA auction. This coin realized $9,694 in our December 2016 Regency Auction. We expect strong competition when this gem crosses the block again. The CU value is currently listed at $13,500. A true prize for the advanced half dollar collector. Cert. Number 50144616 PCGS # 6266
