Lot Description

Mintage: 650. Watery luster typical of late-date proofs in the series dances and shimmers beneath a good lamp, despite the presence of subtle mushroom-tan patina. Unusual for a proof striking, the ear did not pick up a full impression from the dies and minute, subtle diagonal striations remain present on the eagle's breast. One might expect to find some light hairlines given the numeric grade level but a loupe doesn't really locate much by way of distraction.
