Lot Description

1844 Seated Liberty Half Dollar. WB-106. MS-62 (PCGS). Outstanding quality for the modest grade as the surfaces are satin smooth and graced by delicate greenish-gold and rose-gray toning. Faint hairlines exist when examined under a light, but no distracting bagmarks or handling issues are seen. Fully struck as commonly seen on these Philadelphia issues of the decade, and spidery thin die cracks meander through the peripheral devices of the obverse and reverse. Although available with patience at this grade level, doubtless few others could boast the pleasing toning qualities and strike found on this example.
