1876-CC Trade Dollar. Type I/I. Tall CC. FS-801. Doubled Die Reverse. AU-55 (PCGS). This Doubled Die Reverse has long been listed in the <em>Guide Book </em>and has been sought-after by collectors for many years. Not only is the offset rather large and dramatic, but this occurs on the historic Carson City Mint. Both the obverse and reverse are bright silver with the fields slightly reflective, and free of all but minor circulation marks. Both this reverse die and the famed 1876-CC Twenty-Cent Piece show a doubled die feature (the other coin on the obverse), so apparently some difficulty was transpiring in the making of the dies for the Carson City Mint.
