THE GEORGE SCHWENK COLLECTION While the 23-S is sometimes overshadowed by other mintmarked issues of the 1920s, it is indeed a challenging date and considered a semi-KEY to the series. This MS65 is housed in an old green tag holder, and has a bold swirling luster that captivates the viewer's gaze. About 70% Full Head, the details have a generally well defined crispness on both sides. A hint of iridescence comes out when rotated in a light, adding to the allure. The surfaces are clean and GEM quality through and through, the eye appeal is pleasing overall. PCGS 99, NGC 42. The most recent non-CAC example sold in September 2022 for $3,960 and the current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $5,000.
