- 1835 Matron Head Cent. N-14. Rarity-2. Head of 1836. MS-65 BN (PCGS).
A pretty tan-brown Gem with full satiny cartwheel luster over unabraded surfaces. There are no contact marks of any consequence, the only minor flaw to report is a small stain at the first digit of the date, and a faint trace of an old fingerprint in the field above. Exceptionally good eye appeal overall -- the choice color and excellent luster distinguishing this piece from other similarly graded specimens.
Provenance: From Kagin's October 1983 sale, lot 1130.
PCGS# 37063. NGC ID: 225S.
