1739-O Sou Marque. Riom Mint. Vlack-154d. Rarity-8. AU-50 (PCGS). 33.7 grains. Full silvering with nearly full frosty luster, light steel-olive toning to the reverse further enhances the eye appeal of this lovely example. Nicely centered in strike, a trifle weak in isolated areas, yet with most features crisp, and all readily evident. The Riom Mint includes more punctuation varieties that any other mint in the sou marque series. The Vlack number offered here has no obverse punctuation and, on the reverse, there are no stops before or after the leaf différent. Provenance: From the Sydney F. Martin Collection.
