Lot Description

This variety used to be classified as an 1893/2 overdate, but is no longer regarded as such, and PCGS and NGC have stopped designating coins as examples of this delisted variety. A lovely Proof with watery fields and crisply struck, lightly frosted devices. Delicately toned around the peripheries and, while a few small marks are present on Liberty's cheek, the surfaces are uncommonly smooth for the assigned grade.
