1893-O Barber Quarter. MS-66+ (PCGS). Proponents of originality are sure to appreciate this beautiful Barber quarter. Both sides exhibit a base of warm pearl-gray patina over which mottled blushes of vivid reddish-russet, golden-olive and orange-apricot iridescence have gathered. There is a touch of softness to a couple of isolated features, common on New Orleans Mint coins of this design type, but we stress that the overall detail is virtually full. Attractive in all regards and sure to find its way into a highly regarded Barber quarter set. The second New Orleans Mint Barber quarter, the 1893-O has an above average survival rate in Mint State due to the fact that a fair number of examples were kept from entering circulation.
