Lot Description

Breen Die State III. Warm reddish-brown patina with hints of olive in and around the centers. The surfaces show a hint of nice gloss, the texture frosty and generally hard with no significant roughness. Minor verdigris on the reverse at the letters TE in STATES and AME in AMERICA is noted for accuracy, as are scattered nicks and other minor marks that include one in the field between the words ONE and CENT. Detail is bold to sharp in most areas to further enhance the appeal of this gently circulated Draped Bust cent. The Heritage cataloger of the COL Ellsworth Collection graded this piece EAC EF45, net VF35, which would quality it as Condition Census for the Sheldon-205 dies per the 2000 Bland listing.
