- Description du lot
- 1875 Pattern Twenty-Cent Piece. Judd-1414, Pollock-1557. Rarity-7+. Proof-63 BN (PCGS). Regular die trials striking of the 1875 Twenty-Cent piece. Struck in copper with a plain edge.<br /> A lovely specimen, we note vivid reddish-rose undertones to an overlay of orange-brown patina. Fully struck and quite smooth for the grade, with undeniable rarity even further enhancing the coin's appeal. According to the website uspatterns.com, Judd-1414 may have been produced for sale to contemporary collectors as part of pattern proof sets rather than as a die trials piece. Survivors are highly elusive in today's market and probably number no more than six-to-eight examples.
