Lot Description

Tompkins Die Stage 1/1, Rea et al. Die State P. <strong>Tompkins Plate Coin</strong>. Predominantly light pewter gray surfaces are enhanced by blushes of reddish-russet and steel-blue patina at the right borders. Well struck and boldly defined throughout, with a few degrees clockwise rotation to the reverse.<p><strong>Steve M. Tompkins Commentary:</strong> My main set piece for more than 10 years, it is closer to Choice EF-45 to my mind. I felt very fortunate when I purchased this example more than 23 years ago, and hope the next owner feels the same way.
