Lot Description
1883 Pattern Liberty Nickel. Judd-1704, Pollock-1908. Rarity-6-. Proof-64 DCAM (PCGS). CAC. Undated (1938) Pattern Jefferson Nickel. Reverse Electrotype Trial by Anthony de Francisci. Judd-C1938-1, Pollock-Unlisted. Unique (?). ... Nickel. Plain Edge. Believed to have been struck in pure nickel which is slightly magnetic. Boldly contrasted between the frosty white devices and perfectly mirrored fields, the color ranges into the delicate nickel-blue and gold hues to the snow-white frost on the devices. A couple of minor planchet flakes are missing from the obverse fields, on the reverse light laminations remain attached. The obverse design is similar to the regular issue Liberty nickel, but instead of stars on the obverse the legend UNITED STATES OF AMERICA appears, on the reverse an open wreath is present, with the denomination FIVE CENTS at the top and bottom, with the wreath is PURE NICKEL and thirteen stars surround the wreath at the sides.
