Lot Description

Conditionally RARE and very rarely offered in this lofty grade! Frosty, satin-like mint bloom takes on a pearlescent effect on both sides. Well struck and nicely preserved, this turn of the last century southern mint quarter has a lot to offer the advanced collector of this challenging series. PCGS 7, NGC 3. While a handful of finer examples do exist, and some have come up for sale since, the last PCGS MS66 sold back in 2009. The current Collector's Universe value is $6,500. A half dozen examples are graded finer at PCGS, the finest being a 68+. This is a coin bound for a highly ranked Barber quarter set. Cert. Number 34630297 PCGS # 5626
