1839 Modified Matron Head Cent. N-2. Rarity-2. Head of 1838. AU-53 (PCGS). Choice glossy chestnut-brown surfaces with some subtle woodgraining on each side. An essentially flawless cent and nicely struck from an early state of the dies. A truly nice 1839 Head of 1838 with an equally nice provenance. Provenance: From the John McBride Collection.
