- Beautiful medium honey-gold surfaces reveal tinges of orange-apricot patina as the coin rotates under a light. Sharply struck for the type with a full endowment of billowy mint frost. After the 1911-D, and discounting the Wire Rim and Rounded Rim issues of 1907, the 1908 No Motto is the lowest mintage issue in the circulation strike Indian eagle series. Yet despite the fact that just 33,500 pieces were produced, this issue is only moderately scarce by the standards of the type. Most Uncirculated examples are confined to the MS-60 to MS-63 grade range, however, and most are not choice as evidenced by the issue's extremely low CAC stickered population of just 59 coins in all grades. This premium quality Select Mint State offering from the James A. Stack, Sr. Collection represents the finest in quality realistically obtainable for the issue as far as most collectors are concerned, and it is a fleeting opportunity that deserves the utmost in bidder attention.
