1786 New Jersey Copper. Maris 14-J, W-4810. Rarity-1. Wide Shield. EF-40 (PCGS). 148.8 grains. Deep golden-tan surfaces reveal a series of tiny planchet ticks across both sides, in the planchet when struck and best seen under low magnification. A natural obverse flaw engages the rim between O and V, also affecting the top of the E on the reverse, otherwise this EF New Jersey copper is free of visually disturbing contact marks.
