Tied with just one other as FINEST in the designation, this borderline CAMEO is exceptional! Ultra deep, beaming mirrors contrast nicely with the sharp devices. This one is untoned, and highly contrasted, just shy of deserving of a full CAMEO designation. The surfaces are flawless and brilliant, with deep reflective mirrors. Amazing eye appeal. The quality is wonderful and high end. The doubling is most noticeable on E PLURIBUS UNUM and other letters. PCGS 25, NGC 26, CAC 10. There are just two examples in PR67+, neither of which have ever sold in auction, and PCGS has not included a price for this grade in their Price Guide. In PR67 it is listed at $6,750. In Cameo, nothing is graded higher than 66+, and the single example brought $14,100 three years ago. This is an important coin for anyone working on a top ranking set of Franklin Proofs. Cert.
