1856 Braided Hair Cent. N-14. Rarity-1. Slanting 5. MS-65 BN (NGC). CAC. Boldly toned in medium brown, this originally preserved example reveals faint traces of faded mint orange color here and there on the reverse as the coin dips into a light. A smooth and satiny Gem for the high grade type or variety collector. Grellman Die State b, in which this variety is plentiful in Mint State thanks to the discovery and dispersion of a significant hoard. PCGS# 1922. NGC ID: 226N.
