- THE BOYLSTON COLLECTION, PART V A very conditionally challenging issue, the 1860-S half dollar circulated extensively in the wild west economy and a number were also, likely exported to Central America and Asia, never to return. Mint State examples are very rare and underrated. Perhaps dipped ages ago, the surfaces have a uniform frosty surface that shows no wear. A few old scattered marks exist and account for the grade. PCGS 2, NGC 7. The current Collectors Universe value is listed at $3,000 and there hasn't been an NGC-graded example sold in a dozen years or so. WOW. The last PCGS-graded example sold in 2015. Again, this is not a date that appears with frequency. Good luck. Cert. Number 18114104 PCGS # 6301
