1886 Liberty Seated Half Dollar. Proof-65 (PCGS). Thick, rich toning in steel-mauve, sandy-olive and midnight-blue is seen on both sides of this undeniably original specimen. A popular and eagerly sought Liberty Seated half dollar in all grades, the 1886 has a combined mintage of just 5,886 Proofs and circulation strikes. The Proofs, of which 886 pieces were produced, are often selected for inclusion in high grade date sets, for such pieces are more readily obtainable than their Mint State counterparts.
