- Lot Description
- Rum'N'Cola Collection. 1 graded MS-67, zero higher, making this the finest known 1906 half-dollar at NGC. A lone MS-66 at NGC merely approaches the majestic quality of this phenomenal piece, assuring its status as a premier condition rarity representative, especially out of an emission of some 2.6-million pieces. Taken off of an obverse die with cracks starting to show at the date, the first and last star and at the bottom edge of the neck, the strike nevertheless maximized available sharpness. Only the third obverse star and limited portions of the eagle's central motifs failed to pull up completely. Needless to say, this half-dollar boasts incredible luster and absolutely delightful, fleeting almond-gold toning. The cataloger simply could not find any notable marks, with trivial grazing into the field here and there being the only grade determinant.
