1800 Draped Bust Cent. S-203. Rarity-3-. Noyes Die State B. EF-40 (PCGS). Not a particularly rare die marriage for the 1800 cent in an absolute sense, S-203 is nonetheless conditionally challenging with the 1991 Noyes' Condition Census ranging in grade from 63 to 35. An obviously important example as a problem free PCGS EF-40, this tight, glossy brown piece makes a lovely impression on the eye. Boldly to sharply defined in all areas, with only a few minor carbon spots to the obverse and a couple of wispy abrasions over and before Liberty's portrait. This is the late state of the dies with bold clashmarks (as made) along the upper reverse border at the words STATES and OF. Another impressive offering from the Fowler Collection.
