Losbeschreibung: High grade type collectors seeking a single New Jersey copper are often drawn to this distinct and readily obtainable die pairing, and when it comes to the Maris 14-J, this one is nicer than most circulated survivors. The warm autumn-brown surfaces also exhibit intermingled golden-olive color that is more evident on the obverse. Lower right on that side is tight to the border, same for upper right reverse, but all design elements are boldly to sharply defined. The surfaces are hard and frosty, no troublesome flan flaws, and no significant marks. Accuracy compels us to mention a small obverse carbon spot lightly engaging the bottom of the lowermost plow handle, reverse with ancient surface build up within both the horizontals and verticals of the shield. Apart from the obverse spot, however, the in hand appearance is impressively smooth.
