Lot Description

Bright and Flashy Mint State 1739-P Half Sou Marque 1739-P Half Sou Marque. Dijon Mint. Vlack-309, var. Repunched Date. MS-62 (PCGS). 15.1 grains. A beautiful piece, lustrous, frosty and with full silvering to light pewter-gray surfaces. All design elements are crisp, the borders with partial denticulation around both sides. Close inspection with a loupe reveals bold repunching to the digit 9 in the date. Syd Martin asserts that this may be a 1739/8, but in your cataloger's (JLA) opinion it is an RPD.
