Lot Description
This is the fabulous Denny Kemp-Brent Pogue- Dale Friend O-106. This monster is tied for second HIGHEST graded at PCGS, and bested only by a single MS67. This coin boasts an absolutely gorgeous blend of colors, that range from a vibrant purple and azure tone then blends into sea-green and light gold, all brought out by a fantastic cartwheel brilliance. The surfaces are generally smooth, devoid of all but the most insignificant, miniscule ticks are seen with the aid of a loupe. The details are quite bold. The O-106 features a Large 4 over Small 4 in the date, though this repunched digit is not noted on the insert. PCGS 2, NGC 3, CAC 3. This coin may account for two of those appearances at CAC. The last time this coin sold in auction, it brought $26,400, well surpassing the PCGS and CAC Price Guide values. The single MS67 finer sold for $64,625 in the Pogue Sale. This coin, in this cataloger's opinion has a better look, and really is a beauty. If you seek just a single, beautifully toned GEM Bust half, pay careful attention to this one! Cert.
