Lot Description

This handsome piece offers blended medium and steel-brown patina, the reverse darker overall. Excellent detail to the all-seeing eye, rays and stars on that side, the obverse also exhibits outline to bold definition for all major design elements. The lower obverse border is into the date, the digits of which are a tad soft, reverse border into the word STELLA, the letters of which are likewise a bit faint. Close inspection with a loupe reveals only tiny obverse pits and some light granularity to the reverse - trivial blemishes given that this RR number is plagued by poor planchet quality and poor strikes, often with significant post-production impairments. There is much here to impress the discerning Vermont copper enthusiast.
