FROM THE UNFORGETTABLE COLLECTION This SUPERB GEM is another old friend of ours, having once sold in our October 2017 Regency Auction, lot 529, where it was described as: "Among the very finest examples of this date certified by PCGS, only two coins have received higher grades. The eye appeal of this SUPERB GEM is amazing. The obverse sees a dusting of iridescent pewter-silver and russet patina--which is the sort of look Texas halves usually have. But when you flip this lustrous coin over, and the reverse is blanketed in a rich melange of rainbow hues that blend over the intricate and well struck details. Stunning carmine, olive, magenta, aubergine, and teal hues create a stunning palette of color! Only 3,775 were struck." PCGS 154, NGC 128, CAC 66. There are 26 in MS67+ at PCGS and just four in MS68 finer. This coin brought $3,878 in October 2017 and today it should sell for more! A fabulous toner that is worthy of the greatest toned commemorative collection ever. Cert. Number 82920655 PCGS # 9395
