- <strong>Obv:</strong> Head of Liberty left wearing a headdress of four feathers and four stars with a ribbon inscribed UNION & LIBERTY crossing the hair. The legend UNITED STATES OF AMERICA is around the border, the date 1867 is below, and the artist's signature LONGACRE F. in tiny letters beneath the truncation. <strong>Rev:</strong> A Roman numeral V is set atop a fancy federal-style shield with the motto IN GOD WE TRUST arcing along the upper border. Boldly brilliant and equally lustrous silver surfaces exhibit satiny motifs set against reflective fields. The <em>uspatterns.com</em> website notes: "It is believed that 100 of these were struck per J. Colvin Randall."
