- 1872 Liberty Seated Silver Dollar. OC-P1. Rarity-2. Doubled Die Reverse. Proof-63 (NGC).
An attractive and original example of this coveted Proof issue. The patina is dominated by lavender and peach hues that glow with violet and gold iridescence under a light source. Well struck and free from distracting hairlines, with just a single reeding mark to be noted in the right obverse field. One of 950 Proofs struck of this penultimate date of the Liberty Seated dollar series and a desirable coin from any standpoint. The reverse die used here went on to strike the entire run of 1873 proof dollars, as well.;
PCGS# 7020. NGC ID: 252U.
