What an incredible quality SUPERB GEM, tied for FINEST graded at PCGS, and comparing with the other examples, this one may well be the FINEST. Deeply mirrored fields reflect brilliantly and vividly with a bold clarity, which contrasts wonderfully against the thickly frosted and well struck devices. A blush of pale golden tone gives this coin a depth and character to the eye appeal that is unbeatable! Truly a marvel of the issue! Only 600 Proofs were struck. PCGS 15, NGC 4, CAC 13. There are a total of 6 on the PCGS Population Report in PR66+ DCAM and NONE FINER. The last one we sold brought $4,465 in our May 2018 Regency Auction. Shortly after another sold for $3,360 in the 2018 ANA auction; the present coin has a better visual quality than those two, and should bring a strong price.
