- Mintage: 25,000. 15 graded MS-61, 1 higher at NGC. The base of the "1" in the date has been nicely repunched as is often seen for this much tougher issue within the gold eagle series. As the population report attests, the 1894-S is quite scarce at the mint-state level, although examples can be found in the XF/AU range. Bold luster swings through the fields, and the devices were brought up nicely by the dies.
