Lot Description

Beautiful surfaces glow with deeply mirrored fields and softly frosted motifs. The cameo contrast is easily seen despite the presence of original, iridescent toning that blends copper-rose and silver-apricot colors. Minimally marked, as befits the assigned grade, with a razor sharp strike that extends from rim-to-rim. The Proof 1864 is a conditionally challenged Proof Liberty Seated dollar in its own right that enjoys even stronger demand in the finer grades due to the rarity of this date in Mint State.
