1788 Vermont Copper. RR-25, Bressett 16-U, W-2195. Rarity-3. Bust Right. VG-8. 121.5 grains. Dominant golden-brown patina with deeper russet toning in the fields. The strike is well centered on the obverse, off center trivially toward the upper reverse with the border through the letters DE and ET. A dull mark above the seated figure's head and microscopic roughness notwithstanding, the in hand appearance is pleasingly smooth for a well circulated Vermont copper irrespective of variety.
