Lot Description
1862 Liberty Seated Silver Dollar. Proof-61 (PCGS). Cobalt and deep dusky-gold iridescence highlights the underlying lustrous surfaces of this boldly struck Proof specimen. Similar in overall rarity to the 1859 and 1860, the 1862 is one of the more frequently encountered Proofs of this type. On the other hand, demand from type collectors seeking a No Motto Liberty Seated dollar is strong. When combined with the additional demand from series specialists looking for an alternative to a Mint State 1862 silver dollar -- which coins are rare -- Proofs of this date are scarce from a market availability standpoint. PCGS# 7005. NGC ID: 252G. Click here for certification details from PCGS.
