Lot Description

The Bootheel Collection. Overton-103 is a common die-marriage for 1820 with a "curl base 2" and a non-overdated "20" on the obverse. "D" in UNITED descends below the other letters, also helping to distinguish O-103. Blonde patina layers over luster which strives to propagate entirely through obverse fields, and very nearly achieves fullness on the reverse, showing faint breaks in the field above the eagle's head. Even when viewed with a strong loupe, practically no contact emerges from either side, suggesting strong quality for the NGC AU-58 grade.
