This sharply struck example displays moderate rose-gray surfaces with minimal surface abrasions and excellent appeal overall for this conditionally challenging issue. The 1878-CC undoubtedly ranks as the scarcest issue of any Trade dollar issued with the intent of overseas export. Probably no more than just 400 to 500 examples survive in all grades combined, including just a few dozen coins grading AU or better.
