Junior Decker Collection. 78 graded MS-65, 1 graded MS-65 "star" , 9 higher at NGC. As is readily seen from the population report, 1887-O has legitimate claims to semi-key status at the gem level. Most often, examples will show deficient strikes although this example is about as well struck as one will ever find for the date. Even the curls over the ear see near-ideal definition. The entire surface offers superb frosty brilliance with a scant whisper of golden toning on the rim.
