Lot 360 1853 N-15 R2 Repunched 5 NGC graded MS65 Brown, CAC Approved.Lustrous light olive and bluish steel with a hint of sea-green overtone. The surfaces are satiny and this cent has great eye appeal. The only defects are a tiny low spot in the field over the hair bun and a small patch of very fine reddish roughness on the left side of the A in STATES. MDS, die state b, with minor roughness in the field around UNITED STATES. The repunching over the left top of the 5 is bold. Our grade is MS62+, close to MS63,and tied for CC#6 in the Grellman census. The attribution and COL Ellsworth Collection provenance are noted on the NGC label. NGC population 2; 1 finer in 66.
