Lot Description

Struck from the late state of the 1803 JR-3 dies, the obverse is shattered with numerous cracks in the date area. Even so, and also despite the presence of overall moderate wear, this is an otherwise bold Fine example with the only perceived softness confined to the central obverse and in the upper left portion of the star field on the reverse. Warmly toned in steely olive-gray with a pleasing smooth appearance during in-hand viewing.
